This webinar will focus on board and committee meetings and effective meeting leadership. It will cover basic roles and responsibilities of the chair, other board members and committees. It will offer some chairing tips. The session will look too at how much autonomy committees need to be effective in responding in a timely manner to trail operations. April 2 - Stronger Boards 2: Good Board Practices
This webinar will look at bylaws that do not get in the way, at the value of some straight-forward policies and procedures, not just ones about your trail. Policies need not be long or complicated. A short list of what ones are likely to be most valuable will be shared. We will also touch on the matter of having a quorum and what to do if it is a recurring problem. April 23 - Stronger Boards 3: New Approaches and Burning Questions
What are some simple ideas for improving how your board is working? Some groups have adopted a board planning calendar to help ensure that board meetings make time for longer and more strategic discussions. Themed meetings might also be considered. We will pick up from the previous two webinars and add to some of the burning questions that likely exist for community trail group boards. Facilitated by Grant MacDonald (see bio below).
