Order an Earth Walk Kit
An Earth Walk Kit is a backpack full of props and tools to help adults run fun nature activities for kids from 5 to 12 years old as well as younger children. One kit has enough props for up to 14 kids at a time (some activities require kids to share props). So, two leaders using both kits can run a program for a total of 28 kids at a time.
View a list of the contents here. Each kit includes a manual with descriptions of how to run the various activities, including adaptations for ages 3 to 5.
Kits are available to anyone who wants to run activities for kids including parents, grandparents, teachers, early childhood educators, recreation staff, youth group volunteers and others who want to engage kids with nature.
The cost is $300 per kit.

Earth Walk Kit Loans
To help connect more kids with nature, Hike NS has partnered with various municipal recreation departments to provide loans of Earth Walk Kits. In eight locations across Nova Scotia there are two Earth Walk Kits per location.
The kits will be especially useful to the over 600 people across the province who have taken Hike NS’s
Re-Connecting with Nature workshop. This is a one-day, hands-on workshop for adults held mostly outdoors to improve your ability to lead and share an appreciation and understanding of nature with children and youth.
