Trail Funding




Trans Canada Trail Funding: Deadline Extended to Jan. 10
The deadline has been extended to January 10 for the Trans Canada Trail Funding Program, which is open for applications in four areas: Trail Infrastructure and Major Repairs, Minor Maintenance, Greenway Development, and Trail Signage.

Connect2: Deadline Jan. 13 
Connect2, which funds active transportation, has a deadline of January 13 for Expressions of Interest.

Recreation Trail Expansion Grant: Deadline Feb. 1
Groups that had their expressions of interest accepted for the Recreation Trail Expansion Grant must submit their final applications by February 1.

CCTH Funding: Deadline of Feb. 14
The Community Access-Ability Program and the Recreation Facility Development Program both have a deadline of February 14. It is recommended that applicants first talk with the Trails Consultant about funding options before apply to either of these grants.

Federal Active Transportation Fund: Deadline Feb. 26
The intake for the Capital Projects Stream of the Active Transportation Fund through the federal government is now open until February 26. Applications from eligible Indigenous recipients are being accepted through until April 9.

Trail Maintenance Grant
The Province’s Trail Maintenance Grant is a small grant program supporting the annual maintenance of trails in NS. Though open from April 1 to December 1 or until the fund runs out, it is recommended you apply early.

Diversity and Community Capacity Fund 
The Province’s Diversity and Community Capacity Fund invests in the capacity-building efforts of organizations that represent traditionally marginalized communities and promote diversity and social equity. Deadline September 15. 

Trail Damage Funding
