Hike Nova Scotia’s Intro to Backpacking Cape Chignecto webinar or clinic is geared for those preparing to backpack the Cape Chignecto loop for the first time. 

Embark on an exciting virtual journey along the Cape Chignecto Provincial Park Trail with our seasoned fitness expert and backpack enthusiast, Deborah Peddle-Hann. In this comprehensive presentation by Hike Nova Scotia and Journey to Wellness and Healthy Hiking with Deb, we will guide you through every step, from campsite reservations to your triumphant completion of this 50+km adventure. Dive into the trail's stunning and challenging tapestry overlooking the Bay of Fundy as we explore various waypoints, distances, and what to expect along the way. Deborah will unravel reservation day and campsite booking procedures, pros and cons of choosing to hike clockwise or counter-clockwise, campsite and trail section breakdowns, why you need to know tide times and how to find the best water sources, ensuring you're well-prepared for a seamless and successful backpacking trip. Join us for an enlightening session, equipping you with the knowledge and enthusiasm to make your Cape Chignecto Trail exploration unforgettable!
 
Presenter
Deborah Peddle-Hann is an award-winning fitness expert, passionate hiker and backpacking advocate.  After nearly two decades as a fitness and wellness specialist, she has turned her focus to inspiring new and midlife adventurers to embrace the outdoors with strength and confidence. Owner of Journey to Wellness with Deborah and her newest venture, Healthy Hiking with Deb, Deborah is a mom of three who understands that embracing nature is about more than just reaching the summit - it’s about finding balance, building resilience, and having fun along the way. Drawing on her fitness expertise, hands-on knowledge and personal learning curves, Deborah blends practical tips, genuine encouragement with her down-to-earth teaching style to ensure every hiker leaves feeling informed and inspired. The webinar and clinic is offered in partnership with Journey to Wellness, Mountain Equipment Company and the Nova Scotia Department of Communities, Culture, Tourism and Heritage.

Cost and Registration
Registration is required in advance. There is a limited number of spots available for both the webinar and the clinic.

The cost is free for Hike NS paid members and $30 for non-members (who then receive a free one-year individual membership).

After registration you will receive a confirmation email with a link to the webinar or info on the Halifax clinic. It is your responsibility to confirm you have received the confirmation email. If you do not receive this email, please check your spam filter. If it is not there, contact Hike NS and do so at least two hours before the webinar. 

Webinar Cancellation and Refund Policy
Hike NS requires one day of notice in order to reimburse anyone who wishes to cancel their registration (by 7 pm the day before the webinar). Sometimes Hike NS must cancel a webinar due to instructor illness, low enrollment or other unforeseen circumstance. If Hike NS has to cancel the webinar, you will be contacted as soon as possible and will be fully reimbursed. You will not be reimbursed if you missed the webinar because you could not find the webinar link. After registration you will receive a confirmation email with a link to the webinar. It is your responsibility to confirm you have received the confirmation email. If you do not receive this email, please check your spam filter.
